When my husband I started, we should have turned and went the other way quickly. Our journey with Tradewinds started rather bumpy, and never really smoothed out. I will say that we only gave it a month and a half to be fair. Before we started, we saw some bad reviews, but they were from years prior- then, nothing. The company was getting trucks from Quality Companies when we applied, and we had good luck with them in the past. Well, as soon as my husband got up there, he was forced into a loaner truck because Tradewinds stopped working with Quality. We spoke to the owner, Ben Cook (see Hoosier Tradewinds, Bakers Dozen, or look up the Mayor of Westfield, IN for history on this company) and he said he was more than willing to give us 2,000 to help with a down payment... then I could never get a hold of him again. I lucked out and had some money to put down, but I had to wait on it so... we stayed in the loaner. During this time we didn't even see enough freight for a solo- and Jaclyn made us sit for 2 weekends in a row. I eventually asked Dave (DJ) for broker info so we could get into taking to them for loads. After the 3rd weekend of sitting, I started getting loads. I couldn't find freight for much over a dollar a mile, although Lindsay Francis was a very helpful broker with CH Robinson- in fact, she was the only one who we ever got freight from. After running twice as much, but still not as a true team, Jaclyn began accusing us of not getting enough freight. So, I left it to them. During this time we saw checks for 89 dollars, 186, and 400. That was it, and it was like pulling teeth to get any advances- whether they be for food, scaling, tolls, or permits. DJ was helpful in person, but wouldn't answer the phone or emails once our situation escalated, and neither did Ben Cook. If you look at the reviews, there are some happy drivers (notice the reviews are mostly from the last week) but many of these reviews are from individuals who work inside, which we didn't know until we worked there, brokers, and Ben Cook or relatives of Ben Cook who are also on the payroll. In our experience the trailers all needed work, but apparently they are acquiring new leased trailers at least- since you have to pay to use them. In my experience, the freight was low paying, and unless it was a customer load it was heavy. Good luck to those who go here... I just don't see how you can fail as a team, but of course it was all our fault according to Jaclyn.

Tradewinds Logistics is one of the best trucking companies around! The staff is always a pleasure to work with and provides us with great service. Looking forward to continuing to do business with them for many years to come!

I started as a lease purchase driver average pay 1K a week for me talk to drivers who only get 3 to 4 hundred a week, I bought my own truck and was averaging 2k to 2700 a week net. Bad side you have to unload the trailer and you have up to 16 stops sometimes, floor loads.. when you try to quit they will screw you out of your maintenance fund and take extra money from your check

Tradewinds is pretty cool, they are down to earth. I have been with them 7yrs it is business so of course as most careers sometimes you get that rough assignment. They work with me in the hardships I've been having with my truck trying to keep me afloat until I can get another. good people.

The staff there appear to be concerned with the needs of the employee, but that's far from the truth.Tradewinds is the very reason why drivers do what they do...they will never keep quality top notch drivers at their company with the bad business practices that they convey. And that's putting it mildly...So, take it from me and all of the other reviews on here, that's telling you plain and simple...think 3 times before applying here you don't need the frustration nor the headache...their are much better Carriers to work for and that's the God honest truth !!!..

Just be careful if you choose to work for them...
